Corporate profile

Three decades of
spatial intelligence.

Founded in 1995 by licensed surveyor Atef Halaweh, Geograph has grown into a leading geospatial and surveying firm serving Jordan, the wider Middle East and Africa. Work spans topographic and cadastral surveying, UAV photogrammetry and LiDAR, 3D laser scanning, subsurface utility detection, GIS, hydrographic surveys and engineering surveying for major infrastructure projects.

Accuracy rests on robotic total stations and DGPS tied to Jordan CORS, with temporary and permanent benchmarks established on every project.

Core professions

Every facet of
modern surveying.

The mission is stated plainly: precision in every operation, rapid turnaround, continuous training, and practices that keep environmental impact low.

Services

What we deliver.

TERRAIN

Topographic survey

High-precision mapping of natural and built features with total stations and GPS — contours, elevations, utilities and drainage as reliable base data for design.

BELOW GRADE

Subsurface utility detection

Water, gas and electrical lines located with ground-penetrating radar and electromagnetic locators, so excavation is planned around what is actually there.

LEGAL

Cadastral survey

Precise demarcation and documentation of land parcels for formal registration, giving the legal clarity that secure land transactions depend on.

AERIAL

Photogrammetry & UAV

UAV photography reaching 1 cm resolution at 100 m flying height, producing highly accurate orthophoto mosaics over large areas.

SATELLITE

Remote sensing

High-resolution imagery — Spot, QuickBird, WorldView-2 — applied to city planning, object classification, environmental monitoring and digital mapping.

DATABASE

GIS

Survey work delivered beyond AutoCAD: full GIS datasets with location and attribute data, so decision-makers query the map instead of reading a drawing.

MARINE

Hydrographic survey

Sonar and echo-sounding to map underwater terrain and seabed contours for navigation, harbour expansion, marine construction and ecological study.

CONTROL

Geodetic surveying

Reference frameworks that account for the true shape of the Earth, producing the ground control points every lower-order survey is tied back to.

BUILT ASSETS

Building & strata survey

As-built point clouds for 3D modelling and reconstruction, measured building surveys, condition assessment, and boundary delineation for strata units.

Procedure to follow

From field to decision.

PRE-PROCESSING

Data & equipment preparation

Instruments selected for the accuracy the job requires, calibrated and checked before mobilising.

FIELD

Field operations

GPS, total station and level work — stake-out and data acquisition, spatial and descriptive together.

OFFICE

Post-processing

Calibration, drawing and analysis carried out by draftsmen and cartographers under engineer supervision.

OUTPUT

High-accuracy data

Thematic maps, drawings and databases checked against tolerance before release.

CLIENT

Decision support

Deliverables built to answer the question the project actually has to settle.

In the field

Where the data
actually comes from.

SCAN 01
Leica BLK360 documenting a vaulted heritage interior — tripod set low to capture springing and soffit in one station.
SCAN 02
A Roman theatre scanned while open to the public: acquisition planned around visitor movement rather than closing the site.
SCAN 03
Al-Badaa archaeological tower, Qatar — station positions worked out against the skyline and the QND95 grid.
SCAN 04
Stone vault interior — overlapping stations registered on site before the team leaves the building.

Heritage and archaeological sites are documented without contact and without closure — the scanner works around the building and the people using it.

Quality assurance policy

Checked, then checked again.

  1. Checklists developed for every procedure.
  2. Field and office work performed by qualified staff under experienced engineers.
  3. Written procedures and working instructions for all activities.
  4. Quality assurance steps built into flowcharts, not bolted on afterwards.
  5. Reporting, documenting and auditing of QA activities.
  6. QA concepts taught in training courses for new staff.
  7. Every project manager's report reviewed by the office manager.
  8. A named quality engineer responsible for implementing the plan.

QA/QC — GPS ground control points

  • Reference every temporary benchmark to a government permanent benchmark, as closely as possible.
  • Site TBM points well away from strong electromagnetic fields.
  • Measure instrument height three times and average the readings; record it in both metres and feet as a cross-check.
  • Use a known government point as a check point and confirm the adjusted coordinates fall inside project tolerance.
  • Re-verify point names, heights and known coordinates in the office before processing.
